Why do you want security

False Alarms

Do you really want a security system?
You may not know if you really need security. You may not even know there are literally hundreds of choices out there to choose from when picking a security provider.  If you pick the wrong system for you it could end up wasting your time, spending a lot of your hard earned money, having a ton of false alarms.  Not to mention the fines.  Oh, yes you may even get to go to alarm school one evening if you have enough false alarms.  So, what would make you think that you should have an alarm system?

Listed below are just a few examples of who benefits if you get a good security provider when your considering security.

Insurance/Resale
Many insurance companies are requiring security, fire protection in both commercial and residential properties.  Others, offer significant discounts for security and fire protection.  Considering that security is continuing to grow at double digit rates many look at security and fire protection as a strong investment. Frequently an insurance carrier will require security or fire protection after there has been a claim.

Business
If you own a business or are responsible for security at your work place you may need to consider safety and security of your employees and property.   All aspects need to be reviewed; Fire Safety? Intrusion? Theft?
Access Control? Burglar?  Building Integration?  How safe are your employees and customers?

Residential
It does not matter if new construction or an existing home.  Whatever your reasons, security is the number one concern of people these days.  Make sure you are comfortable sharing lifestyle and concerns with your security consultant.

New Construction
Again, business or residential owners should consider all security and safety issues.  Often local building codes will require security and safety.  Finally, installation may be easier and thus saving you money.

Victim of Crime
It does not matter if it is your home or business if you have been a victim of crime you feel violated.  Although difficult, try to slow down, make your decision less emotional.  Be cautious of a security provider that come right out and dwells on your unfortunate circumstances.  Often, if you wait a few days and then have the security providers out you will be able to make sensible decision.

Remodeling
Over the years I have had numerous calls from clients that said, ?Hey we just did a major remodel and are now finished and need to upgrade our security.?  Just a point of reference if you wait it may be more difficult as well as more costly to wait.   Get your security consultant involved during the pre-planning stages.

Lifestyle Changes
Divorced, new job that requires over night travel, widowed, relocated to new area, and countless other lifestyle changes are reasons that you may be considering security.  Make sure to contact your security provider as soon as possible when these changes occur so they can help with the transition and you will not have to wait.

Pet lover
It may sound funny to those that are not pet owners but many of us own and love our pets.  They are often considered family.   You can add a few monitored smoke detectors to a security and give your family the additional safety of knowing that fire department is being called.  Don't forget CO detectors.  No, you cannot just go buy one down at your local hardware store. It only makes noise.  Who would contact the authorities if your gone? Not to mention if it is installed correctly, or has a battery back up.
